Policy · v2
Refunds.
Fair both ways.
Magpie packs are digital downloads. The moment a pack is downloaded it has been consumed — there's no way to "return" a spec file once it's on your machine. So this policy tries to protect two things at once: honest buyers who get something broken or wrong, and the library against people who buy, download, and ask for the money back.
The short version
- Before you download — full refund within 14 days, no questions. Once we're live: buy it, change your mind, request a refund. Done.
- After you download — refunds only for a defect: missing files, corrupt download, the pack materially mis-described on the product page. Reply to your receipt with what's wrong and we'll fix or refund.
- EU / UK statutory rights — when checkout opens, ticking "I want immediate access" will waive the 14-day right of withdrawal for digital goods. That's the standard Lemon Squeezy consent and is required to deliver the download link instantly. Leave it unticked and you keep the statutory window — the pack stays locked until it expires.
What we consider abuse
We sell digital files that can be copied in a second. A small number of buyers treat that as a 14-day free trial. We don't, and won't refund in these cases:
- Pack was downloaded and the request is "I don't need it anymore" / "didn't use it" / "buyer's remorse".
- Pack was used in a project that's been deployed, committed, screenshotted, or shared publicly.
- Multiple refund requests across packs or repeated purchases-then-refunds from the same buyer, email, card, or IP.
- Refund requested via chargeback without contacting us first — we'll dispute it with delivery + download logs and ban the account.
- Bundle/Library purchases where a meaningful share of the included packs has been downloaded.
Honest mistakes — wrong pack, duplicate purchase, didn't realise it's a spec file not a template — are not abuse. Email us, we'll sort it.
How we enforce it
Lemon Squeezy is our merchant of record. They handle the checkout, the VAT, the receipts, and a layer of fraud screening (3DS, velocity checks, mismatched billing/IP geography, disposable-email blocks, repeat-refund flags). On top of that we log download events server-side — timestamp, IP, user-agent, file hash — so every refund decision is grounded in whether the download happened.
We're not trying to make refunds adversarial. The point is to keep the library priced for the 99% of buyers who want it for the stated reason, instead of pricing in the cost of the 1% who treat it as free.
How to request one
Once we're live: reply to your Lemon Squeezy receipt, or email hello@magpie.website from the address you bought with, with your order ID and a one-line reason. We aim to reply within two working days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method via Lemon Squeezy and typically clear in 5–10 business days.
